FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VIRGINIA BEACH (June 3, 2014) – Danny Kline is the new president of Virginia Beach-based Payday Payroll, succeeding his father Andy who founded the firm in 1985.
The younger Kline joined the company in 2006 and spent the past two years as acting president. The 34 year old will now formally oversee the company’s day-to-day operations, and his father will be chief executive officer.
The move comes amid another transition for the company – the launch of its revamped website. At paydaypayroll.com, visitors will find a cleaner interface, the latest news from the Payday team and stronger customer support features. Danny led the web development process.
“I have watched Danny carefully since he joined the business,” say Andy Kline. “I know he’s ready for the full responsibilities of company president and will take Payday to new heights.”
Andy started the business from his garage in Virginia Beach. Only five at the time, Danny watched as his dad built a one-man operation into a company with over 20 employees and clients in 45 states. Payday Payroll has now become a premier payroll services company with more than 1,000 clients, including financial institutions, restaurants, small businesses, health agencies, not-for-profits and other entities.
“Payroll services have been in my blood for as long as I can remember,” says Danny, whose brothers Eric and Jeff also work at the company. “It made sense to join eight years ago, and the time is right to officially lead Payday and continue my father’s success.”
Since Danny joined Payday, the company has nearly doubled in size and expanded its offerings. It now provides comprehensive background checks, financial wellness programs and affordable employee loans and an HR support center. Those services complement Payday’s long-standing products of payroll, human resources and timekeeping. The company has evolved from a backend, keypunching processing center to a technology firm with cloud-based services and customized interfaces for individual clients.
The Payday community will still hear from the Andy in company newsletters and, as CEO, he will offer guidance and insight from his nearly 30-year career. “I am proud to not only pass the torch to my son but someone I deeply trust,” he says. “To our many clients, Payday will remain a family business dedicated to serving the Hampton Roads community.”
