Health care reform is confusing to…well, just about everyone. That’s why Optima Health asked RCG to produce a series of videos that explain the complexities of Obamacare through animation.
No one was prouder than sculptor — and RCG client — Richard Stravitz on the Friday morning of homecoming weekend at Old Dominion University. The school had just unveiled the results of his painstaking work (that took over a year) of a bronze statue of popular mascot Big Blue. “It’s an honor to have had this opportunity,” said Stravitz, who fashioned the seven-foot-tall replica in the studio of his Virginia Beach gallery.

Over the past two weeks, you couldn’t help but hear about the grand opening of West Marine’s new flagship store in Virginia Beach.
The reason? The Rubin Communications media blitz that positioned West Marine and its top local staff on TV, in print and on prominent local news web sites. With interviews on “The Hampton Roads Show,” WVEC-TV, WNIS 790 AM and key write-ups in The Virginian Pilot, Inside Business and WTKR.com, West Marine was top of mind across South Hampton Roads.

Since 1993, the Kiwanis Club has raised more than $1 million for nonprofits across Hampton Roads at the annual harbor party and seafood fest in Norfolk’s Town Point Park. Tickets are on sale now for the 2013 party, which promises all-you-can-eat seafood and cold beer in addition to meet-and-greets with local political figures. (more…)

When you gotta go, there’s no better place than the ten bathrooms in the running to be “America’s Best Restroom.” For the 12th year in a row, Cintas, an RCG client, searched from coast to coast to find the most creative restrooms.
Will America decide the nation’s top toilet is “functional art” inspired by an Italian masterpiece on show at a Swiss museum? Perhaps it’ll be the “Pac Man” potty inside an arcade that prides itself on preserving the “golden age” of gaming?

The team at Rubin Communications Group is hard at work prepping for the grand opening weekend at the new flagship West Marine store in Loehmann’s Plaza on Va Beach Boulevard. The store is open now, but the big celebration takes place September 12-15, 2013.
