Virginia Beach, Va. – The Virginia Beach Rescue Squad Foundation has announced the following squads as 2016 grant recipients:
• Chesapeake Beach VRS – $41,900
• Davis Corner VRS – $13,523
• Kempsville VRS – $22,326
• Plaza VRS – $15,359
• Council of Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squads, Inc. (Rescue Council) – $8,500
• Sandbridge Rescue & Fire, Inc. – $14,274
• Virginia Beach EMS Marine Medic Team – $10,400
• Virginia Beach Volunteer Water Rescue Team, Inc. (Marine Rescue) – $3,500
• Virginia Beach EMS Volunteer Search and Rescue Bike Team (Bike & SAR Team) – $3,500
The Foundation’s 2016 grants, totaling $133,302, will allow these squads to improve their overall operational capabilities. Grants are made annually to eligible volunteer rescue squad entities to sponsor training, equipment and community outreach related to pre-hospital emergency care.
