Public Relations: Don’t Come to Town Without Us

Adding a location in a new market, even if it’s only across the state, can be challenging.

That’s why smart companies hire “boots on the ground,” whether it’s contractors, attorneys, landscapers or public relations consultants.

At RCG, we like to think we’re the best choice for communications services in Southeastern Virginia. We know the media, local government, caterers, florists, you name it. We also have outstanding relationships with non-profits that newcomers often like to assist during grand opening events. Heck, we even have the scissors for ribbon cuttings and creative ideas for firms that want something special beyond the usual “snip and grin.” Here’s a great example.

“We have staged parties, ground breakings, news conferences, one-on-one interviews with business writers and much more for flooring companies, movie theaters, colleges, boating accessory stores, restaurants, furniture outlets, shopping centers and other out-of-the-market entities looking to make a splash in Hampton Roads,” says Senior Account Manager Ashley Martin. “Often the client has a lot to do and not a lot of time so we make it easy by taking on tasks critical to a good launch, including suggesting advertising or co-promotional partnerships with area radio and TV stations.”

It’s RCG’s experience that makes the difference according to COO Sara Jo Rubin. “Being in the market for over 40 years really helps,” she says. “We have had clients from Virginia Beach to Newport News, from Yorktown to Chesapeake and everywhere in between, so we know the economic development directors, the mayors, the council members and the news directors and editors. We never guarantee coverage, but we know the angles that will get their attention.”

Right now RCG is focused on Diamonds Direct, a fast-growing jewelry retailer out of Charlotte that has just opened in Virginia Beach. It’s the company’s eighth location and second in Virginia after Richmond. “Right now we are planning a big grand opening weekend in August to both benefit a local non-profit, ForKids, and entice shoppers into the store,” says Sara Jo.

If your firm is eyeing the Hampton Roads market for growth, don’t come to town without Rubin Communications Group at your side.
