Standing on the curb and yelling for a taxi? So 2013.
Rubin Communications Group was pleased to work with local taxi company, HRTI, in the launch of “App-A-Cab,” the free mobile app that delivers a taxi within minutes to your location with just a few taps on your smartphone. The app even has a GPS display that tells you how close the driver is in real time.
Prior to the February 4 launch date, RCG was hard at work creating a campaign to drive downloads and create buzz to Hampton Roads residents and visitors. Account Manager Rachael Keshishian worked with local media to generate coverage in The Virginian-Pilot, Inside Business, The Daily Press and on WTKR. Aside from our public relations efforts, RCG also placed radio ads on ESPN with local sports personality Nick Cattles.
The final piece of the campaign was to start a conversation on social media. RCG designed the official App-A-Cab Facebook page and facilitated content focusing on getting app downloads. Through demographic and geographical targeting, we purchased Facebook ads and recruited a strong Facebook fan base. After just one month, the app had over 1,500 downloads and gained nearly 800 fans on Facebook due to our efforts.
HRTI President Judy Swystun was thrilled with the results. “Introducing a new brand to this market is challenging, but RCG helped us develop a broad strategy to reach target markets and grow downloads,” she said. “RCG used a perfect mix of radio, TV, social media, print and press releases to accomplish our goals. We would recommend RCG to any business looking to enhance brand awareness.”
