FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads, which builds affordable homes to strengthen families and communities in seven local cities, has honored Bank of America with its “Builder of the Year Award.” Executive Director Brad Kirkpatrick made the presentation to Charles Henderson, Hampton Roads market president, Bank of America, during Habitat’s 2016 Dream Builder luncheon in Virginia Beach on December 7.
“Access to affordable housing is a critical stepping stone on the path to financial stability and success, said Henderson. “Individuals and families who have access to affordable housing are better positioned to achieve their long-term goals, including better outcomes at work and educational opportunities for their children, all of which contribute to the growth of our community.”
Kirkpatrick noted that Bank of America has donated homes for rehabilitation and sale to needy families, while also providing “countless hours of volunteer time, including paying those volunteers on the days they came to work for us.” In addition, Kilpatrick credited Bank of America with furnishing “expertise in our purchase agreements and navigating the waters of business and donor relationships in the region.”
