Glynn to Lead TowneBank’s Chesapeake/Portsmouth/Suffolk Region As Robinett Retires

Suffolk, VA – P. Ward Robinett, Jr. the founding President of TowneBank Portsmouth, has announced his retirement at the end of 2013. Under Robinett’s leadership, TowneBank Portsmouth rose to the #1 spot in deposit market share among all financial institutions in Portsmouth. His banking career has spanned more than 43 years, almost exclusively in Portsmouth, where he was named a First Citizen in 1989. Robinett has been very dedicated to his hometown, serving on City Council for eight years, on the board of Bon Secours Hampton Roads, and as a trustee of the Beazley Foundation, among other leadership positions. He will continue to assist with bank special projects in a part-time consulting capacity.

Dawn S. Glynn will become President of TowneBank’s newly created Chesapeake/Portsmouth/Suffolk region effective January 1, 2014. Glynn is a founding officer of TowneBank, and has more than 27 years of banking experience. She has served as President of TowneBank Chesapeake and the director of TowneBank’s Private Banking program. She is a graduate of the American Banking Association’s Stonier National Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as the University of Virginia’s School of Bank Management and the Wealth Management School at Emory University.

Glynn serves on the United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council, the Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation Board, the Access College Foundation Board, and the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce’s Regional Board. She is also on the Blue Ribbon Committee of the Chesapeake Public Schools Board, the development committee for EVMS, and the board of trustees for the Great Bridge Battlefield and Waterways History Foundation. Previously, Glynn served as chair of the Bon Secours Maryview Foundation.
