Virginia Beach attorney Kevin Martingayle will be sworn in Friday night as president of the Virginia State Bar.

He will be the first bar president from Virginia Beach and the fourth from Hampton Roads in the past 30 years, according to a news release from his firm, Bischoff Martingayle. The bar regulates the legal profession in Virginia, and all attorneys in the commonwealth must belong.

Martingayle graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1991 and holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Hampden-Sydney College. He will take office during the bar’s annual banquet tonight at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront hotel.
