Parents listen up: the deadline is approaching for high school seniors to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms.
The deadline is February 15. If they don’t submit these on time, they won’t receive money and — regardless of income — every student may be eligible for some assistance.
According to the U.S. Department of Education, more than $150 billion is given to college students annually via the FAFSA. One of the most common reasons students don’t fill out the FAFSA is because they believe their parents make too much money, so they won’t qualify. However, everyone is eligible for some form of financial aid, no matter their circumstances.
Fill out the FAFSA as soon as possible to increase your chances of receiving aid. If your school is awarding financial aid or admission on a rolling basis, you are advantaged by having your information in early.
