Care-A-Lot Pet Supply to partner with Norfolk SPCA to help new pet owners get started on the right paw
Virginia Beach, VA- Care-A-Lot Pet Supply will host the 7th Annual Pet Lovers Extravaganza and DockDogs competition April 25-27 (Friday-Sunday). The crowd-drawing action will be held outside the Care-A-Lot Pet Supply headquarters at 1617 Diamond Springs Road in Virginia Beach.
DockDogs is one of America’s fastest growing sports. Guided by owners and trainers, dogs leap into a pool at the end of a ramp for a variety of jumping, soaring and retrieving competitions. More than 15,000 people are expected over the course of the weekend. Admission is free for all spectators.
“Each year we have higher attendance numbers from spectators and participants, and we are excited to host the Care-A-Lot DockDogs competition in Hampton Roads once again,” says Bobby Clarke, owner of Care-A-Lot Pet Supply. “We welcome dogs of all breeds and ages to sign up, and if you and your dog can’t participate, it’s just as exciting to watch the action, check out our vendors and enjoy some family fun and pet friendly contests.”
This year’s extravaganza features an added attraction for pet owners. Affordable Vet Services of Virginia will be on location offering pet health services such as general exams, de-worming, heartworm testing and more. Vendors from over 50 pet supply manufacturers will be at the Extravaganza to provide training tips, product information and sampling. Vendors include: Evo, Zuke’s, Blue Buffalo, Dingo, Weruva, KONG, Greenies, Nutro, Wellness and Lupine.
K9’s in Flight, the ”homeless to high-flying” world champion frisbee catching dogs are back to perform throughout the three day weekend. All the dogs were rescued from the streets or adopted from shelters around the country.
Care-A-Lot continues to support pet adoption through its yearlong partnership with the Norfolk SPCA. Every dog adopted from the shelter will receive a starter package of toys, food, and supplies as well as coupons for discounts on other Care-A-Lot favorites for a total package value of up to $220.
