The ESG Companies handed Rubin Communications Group a large and complex assignment: manage the public announcement that the longtime Virginia Beach developer would submit a proposal to the city to build an 18,000-seat arena. And it would do so with private money, lent to ESG by a bank in China.
With Valentine’s Day just a couple days away, love is in the air.
You know what makes our hearts skip a beat? Using social media as a free way to expand our network and reach those we may not have reached before. Oh, the passion!

After working in the news media and then working with the media to place stories — in total about 40 years — I have a sense whether the newspaper or a TV station will air a story or not. And how it will appear.
We tell our clients that, and sometimes we nail it.

I recently wrote the column below for my blog News To Live By, which shows Millennials the career advice and leadership lessons “hidden” in the day’s top stories. The goal of a blog, in general, is to be as useful for the reader as possible.
In the piece, I give step-by-step instructions for writing critical work-related emails. My hope is that the reader will find all five email templates extremely useful.
Think about your own company blog. Are you offering real value as it relates to your area of expertise? What does your audience need to know? What are their questions, concerns and hangups? Are you meeting that need?

Remember Mad Libs? It’s been awhile, right?
We’ve seen a few holiday-themed versions of Mad Libs stories circulating around Pinterest this week, and we thought…wouldn’t it be fun to write a holiday-themed press release?
Without further ado, here’s a little fun to circulate around your office this week. I wouldn’t suggest actually submitting this to the news media, unless Rudolph is really joining your company. But share your funny Mad Libs with us here on our blog, or take a photo and post it on Facebook.
