Suffolk, Va. – TowneBank is pleased to welcome Thomas V. Rueger as Senior Executive Vice President.   He will be headquartered at TowneBank’s Pavilion office in Virginia Beach.

Rueger will work to develop future strategies for the growth of the Towne family of companies and assist with the execution of localized banking strategies.  In addition, he will serve on the Executive Management Committee, as well as the Credit Policy Committee, and both the Norfolk and Virginia Beach boards of TowneBank.

Virginia Beach, Va. – The Virginia Beach Rescue Squad Foundation has announced the following squads as 2013 grant recipients:

  • Chesapeake Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad $15,000 to be used toward purchasing a Glidescope and a Stryker Stretcher.
  • Kempsville Volunteer Rescue Squad – $5,000 for hi-visibility reflective safety jackets.
  • Ocean Park Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad – $13,600 to be used to purchase a Glidescope, ALS Lifecycle Replacement and additional ancillary equipment for a newly obtained Stryker Pro Stretcher.
  • Princess Anne Courthouse Volunteer Rescue Squad – $17,000 of which $14,500 is to be used toward the purchase of Stryker Power-Pro Stretcher and $2,500 is to be applied toward equipment and supplies for its new community CPR training program.

Saab Owners in Hampton Roads Finally Have A Certified Resource for Factory Parts and Warranty Service Bay Automotive in Norfolk is Certified Repair Facility

Saab Parts North America (SPNA) has designated Bay Automotive of Norfolk as its Official Service Center (OSC) for Southside Hampton Roads. Warranty repairs were disrupted when Saab and GM both went through reorganizations. Now with this designation, Bay will once again be able to handle all Saab Warranty Repairs. SPNA has also named Bay the area’s Parts Distribution Center for factory Saab parts.

Virginia Beach, Va. – Bruce W. Edwards, Virginia Beach EMS Chief, received the 2012 Virginia Gilpin Distinguished Service Award at the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad’s 61st Annual Awards Banquet on January 12.

The award was instituted in 2005 to recognize individuals whose outstanding actions and activities have helped to strengthen and enhance the volunteer rescue squad system in Virginia Beach.

Nancy from Wisconsin wears Carhartt while she does maintenance on outdoor industrial pipeline tanks. In Manitoba, Armand battles -50 degree wind chills to inspect power and gas lines, battling frostbite.

These are just a few of the Cintas & Carhartt Cold Crew Contest entries received in 2012. With less than two months left to enter, Cintas and Carhartt are still looking for this season’s toughest cold weather worker.
