RICHMOND (January 19, 2016) – A recreation center filled with people coming and going and in the middle of it all…a dental chair?

That’s right. On Friday, January 29 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., the Virginia Dental Association (VDA) will bring a portable dental chair to the Audrey Moore RECenter in Annandale (8100 Braddock Road) and the Spring Hill RECenter in McLean (1239 Spring Hill Road). It doesn’t matter that a baby born to a same-sex married couple has only one of the women’s DNA, says the Circuit Court judge who decided what he called a “unique” issue Friday:

Both women should be considered equal parents.

Divorce and custody battles have been cropping up since shortly after same-sex marriage became legal, but attorneys for Lauren and Karen Poole say they’ve never heard of another case exactly like this one – at least not in Virginia. (more…)

Sadie Shefe, Ph.D, LSW and board-certified clinical sexologist with DQS Communications Healthcare Group in Hampton, says most widows and widowers date after the death of a spouse for companionship and fulfillment.

RICHMOND – The Virginia Dental Association (VDA) applauds the recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) that doctors apply a fluoride varnish on the teeth of children ages six months to five years. The AAP contends, and the VDA agrees, that the varnish can help reduce cavities, the top chronic disease affecting young children.

They operate on different turfs: IssueTrak, run by Luhring, is a software development company based in Town Center, with 41 employees and annual revenue topping $6 million.
