VIRGINIA BEACH – Shoppers across the country are being told to be vigilant. This after a Somali terrorist group with ties to Al Qaeda released new video, threatening to attack western shopping malls.

Westminster-Canterbury’s alliance with iFLY Virginia Beach is part of the retirement community’s “Wellness for Life” initiative.

iFLY Virginia Beach is an indoor skydiving experience that creates true free fall conditions, just like skydiving, without having to jump out of an airplane.

It’s sobering to see a document with the words “Last Will and Testament” and my full legal name beneath them.

As the mother of two 20-something children, I know I need one, but I can’t help but imagine myself as a murder victim in an Agatha Christie mystery. (Make that “True Detective” episode for anyone not in my age cohort.)

Since I cover health issues, I paid close attention to the advance medical directive I signed as part of the package. (more…)

The Access College Foundation already has done more to help Hampton Roads kids go to college than any organization.

It’s about to do even more.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid sounds benign enough, but it’s the kind of daunting paperwork only a well-trained and patient tax accountant could love. (more…)

For many, the barometer of a classy restroom is a free gum-and-mints spread (it’s free right?), unless of course you’ve freshened up in the Shaw Club Hotel and Spa, recently crowned Canada’s Best Restroom.

With its high-tech clear-to-cloudy glass doors, infinity sink and oh-so-sophisticated décor, the Niagara-On-the-Lake establishment earned the top honours from voters via business services company Cintas Canada’s Best Restroom Contest. (more…)
