What: The Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation will host its second annual “Back-to-School Prep Rally,” featuring guest speaker Dr. Aaron Spence, superintendent of Virginia Beach Public Schools, to get students and families in Hampton Roads excited and ready for the next school year.

Local celebrities, high school and college bands, cheerleaders and dance troops will energize the crowd, while attendees enjoy refreshments and enter to win prizes including tablets, tickets to local family events and gift cards.

The event aims to remind the community about the importance of education and the power it has to improve their lives and that of their family for generations.

When: Saturday, August 6, 2016; 10:00AM – 1:00PM

Where: Virginia Beach Convention Center

NORFOLK (June 10, 2016) – Habitat for Humanity South Hampton Roads (SHR) and its subsidiary, Housing Hampton Roads, have a plan for nine new houses this summer in the Lake Kennedy Homes section of Suffolk.
