FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tickets are now on sale for the 22nd annual Norfolk Kiwanis Harbor Party, Thursday October 9 from 4:30-7:30 pm at Towne Point Park.
Presented by the Kiwanis Club of Norfolk and Southern Bank along with a host of other corporate and media sponsors, the Harbor Party, which typically draws more than a thousand people to the Norfolk waterfront, has raised more than a million dollars for local children’s charities since it began in 1993. This year’s all you can eat menu will appeal not just to “surf” but also “turf” fans, thanks to tasty pulled pork barbecue and roast beef prepared by Small’s Smokehouse and Oyster Bar on Hampton Boulevard. Harbor partiers will also enjoy fried flounder, assorted oysters and clam chowder, along with cole slaw, baked beans, sweet potato fries and hush puppies. Beverages will include soda, wine and beer including locally brewed craft options.
Guests can expect to meet some of the candidates running for local and statewide office in November, hear live music, play cornhole and have a chance to win valuable items during a raffle that will take place that evening.
Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the gate. They can be purchased online at www.harborparty.org, from any member of the Norfolk Kiwanis Club or by calling 757-456-5212. Sponsorships are also available.
Among the charities that have benefited from the Kiwanis Harbor Party are Boys and Girls Clubs, Edmarc Hospice, CHKD, Holiday House, Hope Haven and the ODU Child Study Center.
