Movie theater will reopen Friday at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront

Beach Movie Bistro will have a new name: Beach Cinema Alehouse.

The theater at 941 Laskin Road closed unexpectedly Wednesday morning, leaving customers and employees in the dark. But by Wednesday afternoon, an attorney for the landlord told The Pilot new operators would reopen it soon.

Tim Reed and Robert Perkins, who have experience with movie theater operations, will manage Beach Cinema Alehouse, according to a press release from Rubin Communications Group provided to The Pilot on Thursday afternoon.

“This facility has earned a well-deserved reputation as the Oceanfront’s favorite movie theater, and we couldn’t be more excited about honoring that tradition,” Perkins said in the release. “Tim and I look forward to providing the same services and amenities customers are accustomed to, while adding future improvement to further enhance customers’ movie-going experience.”
