Sports Illustrated Mention is a Great “Get” and Real Stunner

Account Manager Jenn Hill poses with the issue of Sports Illustrated that features our client, Macy Causey.

Achieving publicity in a major national publication is wonderful and usually takes time to achieve.

So we were more than pleasantly surprised when Sports Illustrated came through for us and our youngest client, 15-year-old Yorktown race car driver Macy Causey.

Here’s the skinny.

A week earlier NASCAR honored Macy, the 2015 rookie of the year in Virginia for her driving exploits at Langley Speedway, as its Young Racer of the Year. We generated significant local publicity in Hampton Roads, but Joel Rubin, who has been an SI subscriber practically his whole life, had a thought:

Let’s see if the magazine would include Macy in its weekly feature, “Faces in the Crowd.”

Account Manager Jennifer Hill followed up, completed a form online and lo and behold, received an immediate favorable response. Yes, Macy’s face and story would be in the NEXT ISSUE.

And so it was. Check out the March 7 SI with the great Golden State Warrior players on the cover. Macy is on page 27.

Jenn learned that if you have a great young athlete who deserves some national attention, “Faces in the Crowd” is open to hearing from you. Go to si.com for details and to CauseyRacing.com to learn more about Macy and her remarkable career to date.
Here’s the “Faces in the Crowd” section.
