Virginia Beach Forum Presents WW II: Heroes and the Homefront

By Staff

You won’t want to miss tonight’s Virginia Beach Forum titled World War II: Heroes and the Homefront, organized and emceed by RCG’s own Joel Rubin. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Sandler Center for Performing Arts.

Come and honor our local World War II vets and recall the incredible growth, sacrifice and patriotism that characterized our region during that era.

  • Hear from veterans of that conflict and about Honor Flight, which raises funds to send former service members to the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
  • Learn how the war impacted Hampton Roads through the words of those who lived through it, including former Congressman Bill Whitehurst and a local woman who recalls vividly Camp Ashby, a German Prisoner of War Camp located just minutes from the Sandler Center.
  • Enjoy music and images from the 40’s and be immersed into the culture of the day

We hope to see you there!
