The Easiest Way to Stay Educated on State and Local Issues

Look, I’ll be the first to tell you an inbox is a sacred space. There’s no need to subscribe to an e-newsletter full of unnecessary information.

On the other hand, the right e-newsletter is worth every click and can make you a smarter working professional.

For several years now, I receive a daily statewide news roundup called “VaNews” from the Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP). VPAP “connects Virginians to nonpartisan information about Virginia politics in easily understood ways.”

The key here is nonpartisan. VPAP monitors information like campaign finance reports and donor information. VaNews is VPAP’s collection of political news and opinion from across state newspapers (ex: Roanoke Times, Washington Post and Virginian Pilot).

VaNews provides quick summaries of each news story and the link if you want to read further. In 5-10 minutes, you can learn about pressing state and local issues and feel “in the know” about policies and legislation that impact you and your business.

Here’s the top section of a recent VaNews email:

VaNews also includes a section of editorials, columns and op-eds. Here’s an example:

As I said, VaNews is the easiest way to stay educated on state and local issues.

Worth a coveted spot in your inbox?

You bet it is.
